The 2015 National Business Officers Association Annual Meeting is coming up February 22-25 in Boston and this year’s event promises a rich line-up of speakers and educators tackling the biggest issues facing independent school business officers around the country. Howard Teibel is on the docket once again this year, delivering a pair of deep-dive sessions on impactful group decision making and strategic communication. 

We’re thrilled to welcome NBOA President and CEO Jeff Shield to the show this week. Jeff has worked tirelessly to ensure that this upcoming annual meeting is the best yet, and shares not only a fantastic origin story of the association, but offers welcomed insight around the importance of the business officer in the tight knit independent school community, and the challenges they face in collaborative work across their campuses.

About Jeff Shields

Jeff is the President and CEO of NBOA, and has served in that role since March 2010. He was worked with business officers of educational institutions for over 15 years. Prior to joining NBOA, Jeff was employed by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Planning Officer. Jeff, an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2002 and was selected as an ASAE Fellow in 2008. He earned his bachelors degree at Shippensburg University of PA and earned his masters at The Ohio State University. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Online School for Girls and his daughter, Samantha, attends Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC.
