Cultivating Resiliency in Times of Change
Session Overview
Higher Education is going through seismic change. Old ways are crumbling as the value proposition is increasingly questioned in our public discourse. Student needs are changing, while the ways we deliver education and work together are transforming. As leaders, it is clear we must reshape or dismantle many of the old structures to build anew.
What skills enable emotional resiliency that allow us to lead this kind of change efforts? How can we best orient faculty, deans and their colleagues to focus and build this shared commitment?
In this closing session, you will learn skills and sensibilities needed to navigate these challenges, especially as the next generation enters the workforce looking for flexibility and meaning in their work. As we move on from the “Great Resignation”, people’s desire for greater meaning, connection and our capacity to create a “workplace of choice” is more important than ever.
Learning Objectives
In this closing session you will learn skills to:
Initiate difficult conversations and make tough decisions.
Orchestrate productive mood across your organization.
Bring humble inquiry into your leadership and management.
Explore strategies that accelerate cultural change.
Now more than ever, we need to show with uncompromising conviction the willingness to address systemic weaknesses in the culture while engaging others with empathy. The risk of failure is great. But the work of cultivating these skills can be learned.
